Government Regulations on Tobacco

For years, evidence has proven that prolonged use of tobacco products can cause many health problems. Many people believe that risking the use of tobacco products should be their choice alone, and no laws should be made to hinder their use of the product. However, the increasing use of tobacco is becoming a threat to future generations. More than 11,000 deaths each year are related to tobacco use and they are entirely preventable (Kenney A05). The habit of these smokers is not only a detriment to them; they are a detriment to the general public as well. Second-hand smoke is proven to be unbeneficial to non-tobacco users, and it can cause many health problems. If something is not done to reduce the use of tobacco products, many people will not live to their potential life expectancy as non-tobacco users.
