1. Electorate: The body of qualified voters who elect politicians into power
2. Constituency: An electoral district used to elect members of parliament to present them
3. Constitution: A system of fundamental laws and principles describing rules for
government, assigning different functions to each governing body. This may be written or
unwritten in Canada, and only written in the United States.
4. Franchise: The right the electoral body has to vote.
5. Executive: In charge with putting into effect the laws and administering it’s function.
In Canada it is responsible to the Parliament, in the United States they are not responsible
to the Congress.
6. Judicial: Relating and having a court of law and administration of justice that may
overrule any other court in the nation.
7. Legislative: Having the power to create, dismiss and vote on bills passing through to
become laws.
