Good Literature
Good literature. What is good literature? As my high school English teacher Dr. Ravenscroft would say, “Good literature is anything that I approve of, or that we read in this class.” Yet I do not believe, as great of teacher that Dr. R is, that he is the final say in what good literature is, and neither am I. What I do believe is that there must be certain elements that each literary piece must contain in order to be considered “good literature.” And the more elements that the work contains, the more likely it is that the literary piece will be considered good literature.
