Since my childhood in the sixties, I have been in pursuit of better education for myself. I was first inspired by a situation, which occurred with one of my own family members. My brother was always very interested in mechanical things and had tremendous ability to solve mechanical problems. He had difficulty learning with books. Consequently, pressure was put on him to conform to what was expected of black boys in the sixties caused him many years of delinquency, depression and self-destruction behavior. There wasn’t much I could do at the time to change it, but I have continued to search for solutions. I now believe that University of Phoenix can help obtain my educational goals while maintaining a normal home and family life.
