Gnutella

In 21th century, people don't need to spend a penny, however, they can get the latest music, what they need to do is log on the internet, and share the music album from the others computer.
It sounds very exciting.Two weeks ago, I loged on a websit www.Gnutella.com( a napster kind websits).
I did download a software, called bareshare. Eventually I got nearly whole collection of westlife songs. Following that a lot of question coming across my mind; who runs the website,why people can get music on the internet so easily, how they make money, why would anyone pay for music which is easily available for free...etc.
After I read through the website, I found that the Gnutella is a protocol designed for sharing files in a distributed network. A protocol is a standard format that allows two pieces of software to communicate, like a language that two people both know.
