Glass and Grape

The play The Glass Menagerie and the movie What’s Eating Gilbert Grape are not all that different. The two stories showed many similarities like different symbols representing the same meaning and characters. However, the objects that showed a well-understood connection were the visitors from the real world. The roles of these emissaries were given to the characters Jim O’Connor and Becky (Williams 85). These two characters come and go, but somehow they made a type of an effect to the characters around them. Both of them had strong effects on characters by changing the point of view of the world for that character.
Jim O’Connor’s strong effects were dealing mostly towards Laura...
