Ghosts Plot

The entire play takes place in a space in Mrs Alvings home overlooking the garden. Regina does not want Engstrand to wake up the young master (Oswald) who is asleep upstairs. The local pastor enters, and Regina greets him cheerfully. The pastor asks if everything is ready for the dedication an orphanage, which will take place in the morning. He notes that Regina has filled out, and they talk for a few minutes. The pastor tells Regina that she should work for her farther because he needs a guiding hand. Regina still doesn’t want to and tries to ask the pastor if has any ideas about who she should marry. As Regina goes to get Mrs Alving Pastor Manders examines some books that have been left on the table. Mrs Alving arrives and they talk of Oswalds return from his travels in Venice, they then discuss the paperwork surrounding the orphanage. The conversation turns to Jacob Engstrand. The pastor insists that he is trying to lead a good life by visiting his daughter Regina, so that she can...
