Prohibition was the banning of alcohol in American in the 1920s.


Why did temperance women want to make America dry in the 1920s?

The Temperance Women did this because they believed that without alcohol society would be quieter and better behaved, everything such as smokes alcohol and drugs were considered evil.

What was the main result of Prohibition?

The Main Result of Prohibition was a ten year crime spree.


What were “speak easies”?

During Prohibition thousands of soft drink parlors were set up all over to sell alcohol at high prices, these were known as speak easies.

Chicago was the center of illegal liquor production.
