Within the scope of an FAO project aiming for capacity building for enhanced spatial management executed with the cooperation of the Ministry Of Agriculture (MOA), the Seminar was held to acquaint the participant with " the Land Use, Land Cover and Agricultural GIS" programme which implies the creation and use of computer based maps to improve efficiency compared to the traditional cartography.



1- GIS technology can be used for scientific investigation, resource management and development planning. A GIS is a computer system capable of assembling, storing, manipulating and displaying geographically referenced information i.e. data identified according to their locations. A GIS can use information from many different sources, in many different forms can help with data analysis.
