From the Romans, to Romania.

Romania is a Latin island in a Slavic sea. It borders Moldova and Hungary to the north and Former Yugoslavia and Bulgaria to the south. Romania gets its name from the Roman Empire, which conquered it almost 2000 years ago.

One of the most defining aspects of Romanian culture is the Romanian language. This language closely resembles the Italian language in spelling and the Portuguese language in pronunciation and is the closest existent language to Latin. It is a language that has virtually remained unchanged since the Byzantine era.

Romanian people experienced numerous barbarian invasions, and empires tried to conquer their homeland, but they have tried to preserve their spirituality by keeping their faith and culture untouched. Romanian culture is very defined and intricate, with roots spanning back thousands of years. Although there has been much interference from other cultures the traditional ways of Romania have remained in almost mint condition.
