The first little portion of reading was in Chapter 5’s Population Growth, with a small piece written by Cameron Barr entitled Female Empowerment Leads to Fewer Births. It talks about this woman named Batashi. Batashi seems pretty convinced three children is enough. Her case illustrates why many population analysts believe that “parallel effort” and “holistic approaches” to overpopulation that is combing the delivery of family planning services with programs that improve women’s standing in society- are critical to slowing birth control.
