Freedom is required for a person

Without the freedom to act and think as we want to,there's no real difference between humans and animals. Humans have the ability to think about higher things like philosophy, art, and truth. But without the freedom to think about these things, talk about these things, and act on our thoughts about these things.
This does not mean that we do not need rules or laws. On the contrary, part of what creates freedom is common agreement we have to abite by certain guidelines for living. However, when a given society has a rule that is not just, it is the responsibility of the citizens of that society to change that rule to preserve freedom.
