What Were the Significant Influences on Roosevelt up to 1932?


It has been said that Franklin Delano Roosevelt has been one of the most prominent figures in 20th century American politics. In order to ascertain why he has come to hold such a remarkable reputation, we must look at the significant influences on his up to his inauguration in 1932.

A combination of Franklin Roosevelt’s upbringing and education would have been a factor that influenced him greatly. He was privately educated at home and was raised to be a gentleman, responsible towards the less fortunate. Roosevelt’s upbringing and education would have been something that would have strongly influenced him and as we can see, his education and upbringing were remarkable. Having come from a fairly affluent family, Roosevelt would have been more able to get involved with politics, whereas if he had come from a poorer family his chances may have been hindered.
