Flimsy Clothes, flimsy morals

A couple of years ago, I was watching the MTV awards, and I saw Britney Spears (a pop singer) receiving her music award. It shocked me to see how she was dressed. She was eighteen years old and talented, but dressed for sex appeal. The top looked like a couple of handkerchiefs tied at her neck, it was split open to her waist. That was a wake up call for me. What has happened to high standards and good morals? Why do female stars compete with each other to wear sexy clothes attracting attention instead on depending on talent alone? Attraction means to pull or draw, and I am wondering if nowadays the major focus for our stars is to draw attention to their looks.
