The Minister’s Black Veil


In this story written by Nathaniel Hawthorne a minister named Mr. Hooper wore a black veil one morning before his congregation and from that day forward he never removed it, not even on his death bed. Mr. Hooper never let anyone see his face for the rest of his life.
There was a very significant meaning behind the black veil. Mr. Hooper explained that he wore this veil for sorrow, for what sorrow is unknown.
