Flag Burning

In the life of Americans a question is asked often too many times. The question that I am referring to is of course; have your first amendment rights to free speech been violated? The law states that flag burning is protected as an expression of free speech, and is to be granted to all citizens. The law is vague and has room for interpretation. Flag burning is more of a question of patriotism, rather than whether that act itself is wrong. It is not the burning of the actual flag that people don’t like, rather what it stands for that is being desecrated. The argument for both sides has strong and weak points alike, which is why this debate is an issue today. The ones that argue, argue on two main points, whether flag desecration is “constructive criticism” or if it is a destructive behavior.”
