First Time I Went Fishing

It was 1991 and I was twelve years old. It was a gorgeous summer day and I was out with my Uncle Bo fishing on his friend's private lake. This was the first time in my life I went fishing. The day started off great! It was fascinating out there on the lake. The sun was shining and sparkling off the water giving the lake an almost sapphire-blue appearance. I didn't have a care in the world. My Uncle Bo was carrying his small little box filled with fishing equipment and his rod. I was carrying his cane pole that must have been 20 feet long, with a sinker that had to weigh 2 oz., with a cork about the size of a golfball. I followed my Uncle, and we headed towards the dock.
