Fibonacci Numbers and Art Leonardo Fibonacci discovered a famous sequence known as the Fibonacci numbers, or the Fibonacci sequence. The Fibonacci numbers have an awkward influence on art. The Golden Ratio, or the Golden Section, appears in any two adjacent Fibonacci numbers after three. The ratio is approximately 1:1.6. It occurs in decagons, pentagons, circles, spirals, and the Golden Rectangle whose two sides yield the ratio to each other.
