Feminity

The concept of Femininity has changed drastically over the years. Early in the 1900s, women worked and lived at home taking care of the kids and making sure dinner was ready by the time her husband came home. However, today woman have become more self-reliant and do not need a man in order to be happy in life. Some women have come to realize that a lot has changed since the time of their parents and grandparents. Although women have more rights and can fend for themselves, some still take advantage of the idea of feminism. In Susan Brownmiller’s essay named “Femininity,” she says that women now, “…can use their ‘femininity’ in all its complexly nuanced forms to achieve their goals in ways rather different from the way men achieve theirs” (88). Some women have become seductresses who search for money and fame rather than love and a life long commitment by wearing revealing clothing and too much make-up.
