A. Merits and Defects of federalism and methods provided in the constitution to deal with the problems of federalism
Federalism has its pros and cons, but at least it’s not a unitary system. The states need power too.
1. Federalism : is basically when power is divided between the nation and the states. It differs from a unitary system in which the nation has all the governing power. It also is not a confederation, which is a league of states that give the national government its power. Federalism is not too far one way or the other, it’s kind of in the middle.
2. Federalism : Disadvantages : this includes conflicts between the states and government, disobeying of the law, avoiding the law, urban crises, federal government interfering with the states, shifting responsibility to others to avoid major problems, disunity, complex government, too many government officials. These are but some of the problems with federalism.
