FEDERALISM ESSAY ON BLOOD ALCOHOL LEVEL

For many states, to keep receiving federal funding for their highways (or any other federal funded projects), they have to lower their blood alcohol levels from .1 to .08. Now many states say that this violates their sovereignty rights, but studies show that lowering the blood alcohol level clearly saves lives. By using the power to use implied powers in the constitution, the U.S. federal government does not violate state sovereignty rights. However it is using what powers it can to help keep the people of our country safe by reducing alcohol related deaths, accidents, and also giving states a chance to maintain the federal roads (projects).
