Overcoming Fear

Picture a man standing on a cliff. The only direction is down. His tiptoes hanging off the edge like Christmas lights dangle from a tree. His breaths are slow. You can hear the blood pumping through his heart, each time faster and faster. He closes his eyes, and suddenly a powerful gust of wind makes him unstable. He struggles for ten seconds, but the wind obtains the fight. He then plunges down 75 feet into the vast ocean. His flesh is like jelly; his body in a total rush, and his mind in confusion, yet thinking "I have conquered my fear." Fear is an emotion characterized by dread or expectation of harm. Everyone has fear, but what one really fears is fear itself.
