Fate

Will I get out of bed, walk outside, and get hit by a bus or will I be five minutes late for my own demise? If I oversleep and survive, have I just cheated fate? Or was I just not meant to go just yet?
If I knew I could have been killed, would that have saved me? One could think: “Well, now that I know what will happen, I will be able to avoid it.” What if finding out is part of what is going to happen? If I know what will happen and purposely oversleep. Then, go outside and get hit by the 10:15AM bus instead of the 10:00AM bus, did it really help for me to know? These are questions referring to an age old nemesis of free will and choice. That diabolic entity is ... Fate.
