Family Life and Stress



Family life can generate great stress on a person. From living up to expectations of other family members, readjusting to parents house rules, and juggling college with chores and family obligations. On the website American Family Physician it says, “ Stress is caused by the body’s instinct to defend itself.”
I never realized how hard it was going to be on me moving back home with my parents, after being out on my own for several years, so I could attend college. The pressures of family life at times can be overwhelming. My parents are so proud that I have gone back to school, and so sometimes living up to their expectations with grades can be very stressful. Growing up B’s and A’s were the only expected grades that where permitted to walk through the front door on report card day. Now even after all these years this is still an expectation from them.
