This offers a general insight into the idea of ‘family learning’.

Family learning allows a person to become more ‘able’ in understanding the roles, relationships and responsibilities relating to the family and society in general. Family learning also aids the idea of communication, which in turn helps a person to experience the notion of learning; decision-making in particular.
Family learning does not always take place in one particular location. Learning may take place through social activities for example. Family learning may also take place in the home, using a programme on a computer for example.
