False Identification in Eyewitness Identification

This article illustrates a conversation I was having with my co-worker. I was detailing the description and discussions of this class and giving her examples. I explained to her that there was a high percentage of false identification in eyewitness identification. It is eerie to think that you might be a witness or a victim of a crime and not be able to correctly identify the culprit(s). We started discussing the difference in races, how if the perpetrator is from another race, it would be much more difficult to identify distinguishing features or marks.
