Eyes On the Prize - Writing Assignment


The series “Eyes On the Prize” is a wonderful learning tool. I’ve learned so much from it and its also a fun way to learn, because of the way they put the episodes together, like adding the real life footage into it and all the old songs from back in those times that meant something to that era.

The most interesting thing I’ve learned from the series, was about the Emmet Till murder. I was so amazed that Emmet Till’s uncle, Mose Wright, could and would actually point out the men who killed his nephew. If I were Mose Wright a black man and knowing all the things that could happen to me if I did point out the men who killed my nephew, than I wouldn’t have said anything. I learned if you did do something like that, you could end up dead or your family could end up dead or you could just be tortured and beat up really bad.
