EXTINCTION BY COMPUTER

Last week, after a long, tiresome workday and probably having just assisted a frustrating customer, a co-worker approached me with the statement -- “Wouldn’t it be nice if customers could just come in the store and go to a wall of computers and drawers and punch in the item they want, insert their ATM card and the item is located and sent to the drawer and their account is deducted that amount.” I replied “Yeah, that would be nice but then we’d all be out of jobs”. That conversation got me to thinking about this article and thus this is the topic of my first paper.
I do not believe that the human race will become extinct due to the evolution of computers. While it is true that computers have already taken the place of many human jobs, there will always be a need for human contact.
