Experiential learning

The session was designed to introduce to the class another concept of teaching-“Experiential learning “. This method offers student the chance to learn in practical ways, by doing certain things, while reflecting or analyzing those experiences systematically. Experiential Learning allows students to learn things not taught in conventional curricula. The learning process is further enhanced by providing opportunities to the learners to also see and discuss the information. This brings out the following characteristics of Experiential learning-
ü There must be an environment, where the learner can actually do something on his/her own decision.
ü The role of teacher is not that of a source of information but that of a coach or guide, who helps the learners on his/her ways.
ü A minimum of method to be included such as discussion, individual coaching, de-briefing and group work.
