Evolution

The man who first proposed the theory of evolution was Charles Darwin. His radical theory was that every living organism had originated from a singular being or common ancestor. Charles Darwin first fell on to this observation of evolution on his journey to the Galapagos archipelago on the HMS Beagle. He left on his voyage of mapping after Christmas in 1831. When he was on the Galapagos Islands, he discovered that finches’ beaks had evolved through a drought. He found that the beaks were thicker after the drought in order to chomp on thicker nuts and such since of the lack of rain. When the finches’ beaks evolved like this, he found that more of the birds lived.
Charles Darwin was born in 1809. His father wanted Charles to study medicine so he did. However, his real interest was in natural history later to be called “Biology.”
