Prohibition
------ The severe and mundane quality of life led to excessive drinking
among all members of society; including women, senators, and clergy
members.
------ The embarrassing and disturbing effects of alcohol became prevalent
in the events of the time. i.e.) Reoccurring fights in inappropriate places
such as weddings and funerals; decreased labor efficiency; an increase of
accidents in workplace; threatening of family balance and spiritual welfare;
general rise in crime, poverty, and violence.
------ These effects led to a want of reform to decrease the level of drinking
in society. Here started the continuing war of the prohibitionists who are
constantly seeking the ban of alcohol.
------ Prohibition party in 1869 established; this party advocates that the
nation would never achieve prohibition, and that, once achieved,
prohibition would never be adequately enforced, under either the
