The Scenario
I am a member of a practice committee for Quit Line, a government funded programme to support people to stop smoking. I am aware that Nicotine replacement therapy does not work for everyone and evidence has come to my attention suggesting Nortriptylline as a second line therapy.
Before going to the practice committee, I need to review this further. My search reveals a Randomised Controlled Trial, the only study available at present.

In this assignment I intend to critically appraise the given research article using the JAMA framework, and discuss the validity and applicability in relation to the given scenario.
