"Everyday Use" by Alice Walker, written in 1944, is based on the story of am African American family composed of a Mother and her two daughters: Maggie and Dee.
Dee is the oldest sister and daughter. The point that can easily be notice is the extreme jealousy Maggie has towards her sister. She believes that her sister has a better life than she does. The mother is the narrator of the story; she makes different descriptions about both her daughters.
