Even Though Sex Can Be a Very Controversial Subject,
It Can Also be a Great Source of Humor

In today’s society, the twenty first century, sex can be a very uncomfortable

subject for people, not to mention authors, to talk and write about. However, I chose several authors who use sex in a humorous context using communication about sex, perception of sex, and exaggeration about sex. I chose the work of Stephen Sherrill in “Humor Thy Father,” Bill Scheft in “Rejected Celebrity Cab Announcements,” Prudence Crowther in “What We Told the Kids by Betty Markshuffle,” and Garry Trudeau in “I Am a Tip-Top Starlet,” all from my Mirth of a Nation textbook. I also used several examples from Dave Barry’s book, Big Trouble.
