Euthanasia Persausive topic

The Macquarie school dictionary defines Euthanasia as: The act of helping or letting someone die when they want to, because their pain or suffering had become too great.
In this definition there are two main points I would like to point out. The definition states “when they want to” and also “pain or suffering has become to great” These two very main points to Euthanasia are the base to my arguments and in very few words show the necessity for Euthanasia.
I have read many definitions on Euthanasia and I find they all relate to a quick and peaceful death, for those who no longer have the precious gift of quality of life.
Euthanasia, which is illegal, should be made legal in Australia. There is not doubt about this fact.
If you were a medical professional and an extremely ill and suffering patient asked you too peacefully end their life, stop all of their pain could you really refuse without a serious consideration of the pain this person is living through?
