When critically assessing the Euro and the entrance of Great Britain into the EMU, now is not the best time for joining in on the new currency and policy. The controversial subject matter concerning the Euro is a problem for Great Britain because of the factors and problems involved. These factors include interest rates, common economic regulation and policy, government investment, low debt and the main question at hand that can the Euro be successful for all European countries.
One of the problems that Great Britain faces in joining the EMU is having common interest rates with European countries. This proves to be a problem because “British economy differs so much from the rest of the European Union.” For instance how Britain uses interest rates through the housing market and how volatile the rates can be could result in being problematic for Britain’s economy.
