Video surveillance is a ethical way of watching people under the circumstances that it is being used the right way, and it's for a purpose of catching someone doing something wrong either at a workplace or at home. The two types of video surveillance used is overt surveillance, which is the use of cameras which are in plain sight, and covert surveillance, which is the use of hidden cameras. Both of these types of surveillance are completely ethical if the rules are followed for each one. Covert surveillance is the use of video cameras that are hidden, and cannot be detected by the human eye.
