Ethanol; A Benefit for All and a Solution to Air Pollution

There are many benefits for production and use of ethanol as an alternative to gasoline in cars. The benefits stretch beyond helping the environment and go all the way to improving the economies of the communities that produce and use ethanol. The United States and many other countries are taking advantage of ethanol, and while the U.S. uses over $1.6 billion gallons a year, some countries such as Brazil have over 40% of the cars on the roads running on 100% ethanol.
The use of gas powered cars is harmful to our environment and air pollution has become a major problem in many larger cities. Cutting down on the use of cars alone is not enough to make a difference. The difference needed to fight air pollution for cars is a cleaner fuel-burning car. Ethanol was developed as an alternative to petroleum and is derived from plants such as corn, and can also be derived from food...
