Ethan Allen has been a leading manufacturer and retailer of fine furniture for over 70 years. Started up in 1932 by brother-in-laws, Ethan Allen has continually provided superior quality, service, and style for all of a person’s furniture needs (“Company” 2002). In 1936, Ethan Allen purchased its first plant, which set a foundation for the company’s country-wide network of manufacturing and distribution centers. Going along with their theme in 1954 as a “one complete source for all your furniture needs in modern or traditional styling,” Ethan Allen established the concept of gallery stores (“Company” 2002).
