Essay on Orwell's Marrakech

Orwell’s “Marrakech” is on surface just a vivid description of a Moroccan city. But what lay beneath the detailed narrative is a disturbing social commentary. Orwell demonstrates the dehumanizing tendencies of mankind. He shows how often we are able to compare a person to an animal or see them as something subhuman simply because of their social status.
