Essay 1

It is more obvious to some, than others, that the United States government is the entire basis of our lives. Every law and every freedom, as well as every injustice is set forth by none other than the U.S. government. It is at times like these, when we are at the brink of another world war or simply at a time of something other than our everyday normalcy, that we or at least I take the time to sit down and realize what it is exactly that is taken for granted everyday.
Today, in all places of employment, business owners have to abide by the rules set forth by the EEOC, or the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. These rules are what allow all U.S. citizens to be employed (after a certain age) and to not be judged based on race, color, religion, appearance, sex or national origin. Without these rules set forth by the EEOC and the U.S. government, many U.S. citizens would be without jobs or could possibly even be harassed at the workplace on a daily basis.
