By subtracting the initial reading from the final burette reading and then taking the absolute value of the value, you would get the baseline value, which is 3.1mL

2. The percent of H2O2 that spontaneously decomposes in 24 hours
= mL baseline – mL 24 hours X 100
mL baseline
= 4.1mL – 3.4mL X 100
4.1mL
= .7mL X 100
4.1mL
= 70%
4.1mL
= 17.1%
Thus, the percent of H2 O2 that spontaneously decomposes in 24 hours is 17.1%.
