Environmental Psychology

Environmental psychology is a branch of experimental psychology developed in the late 1960's which studies the relationships between behavior and the environmental context in which it occurs. The term environment is defined very broadly and includes all that is natural on the planet as well as social settings, built environments, learning environments and informational environments. Several elements help define this field of study: attention, perception and cognitive maps, preferred environments, environmental stress and coping, participation and conservation behavior.
