In the Short Story “Two Friends” the climax is to a great extent effective. This short story is about two Frenchman who decided to go fishing. The 2 friends were then caught by the Germans who wanted to get the password to enter France. At this moment the climax occurs. It is effective because it is unexpected, fills the reader with suspense, and makes the reader have particular feelings when the conflict is resolved.
