Egyptian Heroes

Some mortals became deified heroes in Greek mythology and were given many attributes of gods in whose image they were created. The most famous heroes usually became demigods and assumed that role among the ancients.

Archilles is the most celebrated of the Greek heroes in the Trojan War. He sought fame and glory but had his faults such as conceit and his hot-headedness.
Agamemnon he was the leader of the expedition against Troy. He resembles Zeus.
Alcestis known for her beauty, is the ageless symbol of marital love and loyalty.
Amphiaroas was one of the seven leaders to march against Thebes. Amphiaraos was worshipped as a seer and had two sanctuaries, one in Thebes and another at Oropus.
Antigone was considered a hero because she was not allowed to bury her brother but she tried to anyways and got caught. So they threw her in a cave alive and that’s where she took her own life.
Atalanta was the object of AphroditeÍs hatred because she maintained her virginity and the jealous...
