The editorial titled “No to Nanny state” argues that Victoria is not the place to be due to the issue on banning dogs and cats at new housing estates which the editorial claims is giving less freedom to Australians to do what they want. According to the editorial the Australian National anthem has a line that says we are both young and free; the editorial is now questioning the freedom of Australians by asking free to do what?

Presenting the view of the Australian people shows that our choices are soon becoming ignored and that banning pets is taken them away from the lonely, the elderly and families who own pets.
