Germany - THE road to the 2006 FIFA World Cup will become a little clearer on Friday night when the draw for the qualifying competition takes place in Frankfurt.

Nearly 200 countries entered the competition and with preliminary matches in Asia and Africa now completed, 156 nations remain in the hunt to join hosts Germany in the world's biggest sporting spectacle.

On Friday, those teams will be placed into eight groups of four teams for the second stage of Asian qualifying. Each group will be played on a league system with the teams to play each other twice on a home and away basis between February and November 2004.
