Drosophila

CONCLUSION
A Monohybrid cross is a cross between one trait in which one is dominant and recessive. The parents of the Drosophila melanogaster offspring were of the First Filial Generation, and were Heterozygous Dominant. In the cross, the red-eyed trait is dominant over the recessive sepia-eyed trait, and results in a 3:1 phenotypic ratio of red-eyed flies to sepia-eyed as shown in the Punnett square. This cross agrees with Mendel’s Law of Dominance.
