Driving Safely at any age

I want to talk about driving today….This is a very sensitive issue.

Who still drives? Who use to drive? Why? Was it hard to give up?

Who knows someone that drives poorly and they worry about that person’s safety because of the poor driving habits?

Driving is very important in our mobile society. It reflects status & independence. It’s hard to give up.

Age is not a criteria for not driving any more. However…
Did you know that Older Drivers are at greater Risk to crashes?
Drivers age 70 plus are involved in significantly more motor vehicle crashes per mile driven than middle-age drivers & teenagers
Older drivers are more fragile & are more likely to suffer a fatal injury.

It is best to know ones own limits & Best if…
Drivers can voluntarily decide to stop driving
Drivers may take a course to learn how to adapt to their limitations
Drivers License could be cancelled by MD
