Dreams in Of Mice and Men
John Steinbeck is very good at using original ideas to add to his writings. One of these original ideas was that of adding to his works is the usage of dreams, which was constantly used in his novel Of Mice and Men. Steinbeck goes into dream sequences, not so much sleeping type dreams, but more daydreams, as a way of showing an introducing a new angle to his writings. Steinbeck makes dreams to be a very important part of life and especially demonstrates this through the characters of George, Lennie, and Candy with how dreams shaped how and what they did.
Steinbeck uses dreams to motivate to his characters. In section one of his novel, he tells of how George and Lennie are sitting around a fire sharing their dreams of the future. He tells of how they are dreaming of their own ...
